RaceDV Inc. // October 2006 - Present

Lead Software Developer, Co-founder, Partner

RaceDV develops in-car video and telemetry data solutions for use in motorsports. A key differentiator for RaceDV was building a strong online presence, including an online community where customers and enthusiasts can share/discuss their videos and performance data.

Being heavily involved with this start-up from the onset allowed me to contribute creatively in the conception of multiple related products and projects. The tight time line and budget of a start-up also increased the importance of planning, self-motivation and focusing on key deliverables to meet our business goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate project schedules to integrate with hardware deliverables and business goals.
  • Responsible for RaceDV’s software development life-cycle including requirements, R&D, project planning, implementation, and delivery over multiple iterations.
  • Implemented RaceDV’s development environment and policies including source control, bug tracking, quality assurance, release procedures, and documentation procedures.
  • Responsible for software support and customer feedback management.
Highlighted Projects:
  • Designed and implemented RaceDV’s video and telemetry data capture system software with C#, C++ and Windows XP Embedded on custom hardware. The system captures and synchronizes two video channels, two audio channels, g-force, GPS, and OBD-II. The software fully manages the removable media storage, external/battery power, peripheral connections and system operation through an LCD Display. Successfully overcame many different hardware, software and usability challenges.
  • Designed and developed RaceDV’s rendering system which transforms raw input data into a graphical overlay, then synchronizes it with the audio and video sources to yield the final video. Constructed with .Net, Windows Presentation Foundation and video editing tools.
  • Rapidly designed and implemented RaceDV.com which presents RaceDV’s videos, user profiles and performance data online. [www.racedv.com]
  • Implemented RaceDV’s company web site. [www.racedv.com/company/]

Computar Inc. September 2001 - October 2006

Web and Windows Developer, Web Designer

Computar provided third party customized invoicing solutions for large corporate customers. My role was to augment Computar’s core billing services with web applications to improve communications and information transfer between the invoicer and Computar, and between the invoicer and the payee.
Highlighted Projects:
  • Co-designed and implemented a secure payment tracking and approval web application using ASP.NET and SQL Server. The application supports disconnected and concurrent database updates, user productivity analysis, SOX compliant auditing features, and multidimensional summary reports.
  • Co-designed and developed a multi-tier billing invoice analysis and reporting web application targeted towards large corporate clients. The application was built in ASP.NET and made extensive use of SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, and Analysis Services (OLAP) for multidimensional analysis.
  • Interacted directly with customers regarding requirements, design, user acceptance testing, training and support.
  • Co-managed the development environment and software development life-cycle for .Net projects.
  • Designed and implemented a secure digital document delivery web application.
  • Designed and developed Computar’s web site using a CMS and templating system.
  • Designed Computar’s corporate image and logo.
